Vinyl and laminate flooring both have wood and tile/stone visuals created by photographs rather than actual wood or stone. Vinyl is made from plastics and has either a stone polymer core or wood polymer core, while laminate floor is made from HDF wood products. Vinyl is more resistant to water spills while laminate is slightly more resistant to scratches. Both are designed for the active family.
Floor prep is essential to ensure your new floors will hold up over time. If a company indicates you do not require floor prep, enquire further with them. Floors that are uneven and have low/high spots contribute to fractures in the joints along with other issues.
Levelling needs are hard to estimate without the current floor being removed, however we can create an allowance based on industry standards, similar scope projects and square footage. We can review scenarios that may come up for replacing your flooring to ensure you are prepared.

There are many flooring choices in the market. You want to ensure you are buying from a reputable manufacturer and that the product is stable, ensuring longevity. We have vetted our distributors and only carry premium materials that create great value and will last long into the life of your home. Be careful, there are inexpensive materials that fail easily out there. The expression “it's cheap for a reason” comes into play here!
Yes. We have extensive experience in strata buildings and are happy to work within their policies. We are also happy to provide specification sheets your strata council will require.

Yes. We are happy to provide this service to our clients. Having Above and Beyond Concepts pull a permit on your behalf will save you time. Municipal officials will often ask questions about a project before issuing a permit. Our staff are best qualified to answer these questions on your behalf, preventing hours of back and forth with officials.
Absolutely! Interior partitions that aren’t load bearing or shear walls can easily be removed. Otherwise, a support beam needs to be added. Either way, we have a structural engineer on call to make sure your renovation is done safely.
